MRCHBA Stallion Auction
Of Breeding Fees

Auction for 2007 breeding fees will run from Feb 1st 2008 closing Jun 1st 2008.

1. Stallion owner donates one stud fee to MRCHBA. Stallion donating a stud fee must be at leasat 2 years old in the breeding year. (Paid up stallion may represent himself in the eligible classes starting in the 2 year old year.)

2. Stallion breeding fees will be sold with a mail in bid commencing Fen 1st 2008. Stallion Services will be auctioned from Feb.1 to Mar.1. March 1st to June 1st bidding will be on a first come first served basis with post marked dates determining the successful bidder. You may obtain more info from mgstuart@mts.net. All stallions enrolled by completing and returning an MRCHBA stallion contract and enclosing a cheque for $100 will be listed. Stallion Contracts with Stallion fees lower than Chute Fees will not be accepted-we consider booking fees as part of the breeding fees.Bidding will start at 1/2 the regular stud fee or $300 whichever is greater.

3. If a stallion fee is not sold, the stallion owner may purchase the fee for $300.00 by June 1, 2008 in order to make his offspring eligible for the 2008 Futurity. If a stallion has not been paid into / or sold through the futurity in the last two years, they will not be allowed to be listed in the auction list. Starting as of this year,with a historical view of the stallion list, any stallion that was not purchased or paid into the program for two consecutive seasons will require prepayment of the minimum stud fee of $300 before being enrolled in the program.This payment will be refunded if the stud fee is sold.

4. If a stallion owner wants to put his stallion into the program after the auction takes place, he must pay the full stud fee (minimum $500) to make the offspring eligible. Deadline June 1st.

5. A stallion owner may purchase the stud fee himself prior to the auction for $500. The fee must bep aid prior to the auction and the stallion will be listed as sold on the website.

6. Bidders will be responsible to abide by stallion owner's contract regarding mare care, vet fees, chute fees, live foal guarentee, breeding season dates and where stallion will be standing in the breeding year. Please contact stallion owners to clarify any questions. If a stallion dies, becomes unfit for service, is sold, or moves to another location causing undesirable conflict, the stud fee purchaser can apply to the MRCHBA Board to have the stud fee amount applied toward the purchase of another fee. NO cash refunds will be made.

7. Stallion owner may enter one offspring forhalf the entry fee in a Select class in the breeding year. Mare owner may enter the resulting foal for half the entry fee in the Weanling year in the Select division. Only 1 voucher can be used per horse per class. The stallion owner may use the voucher or transfer it to any offspring by his stallion, but the voucher must be used in the breeding year only.

8. Resulting foal from a stud fee breeding purchased through the auction will be eligible to be shown in all Select years (weanling through 3 year old) even though the stallion may not be paid into the program in subsequent years. If the mare does not have a foal from this breeding, the following year the mare may be rebred to the stallion and that foal will be eligible for the 4 years (even if the stallion is not paid into the program that year).

9. Foals sired by stallions sold through the auction will be eligible for the MRCHBA Select Division at the current futurity.

11. Entry Fees for all clases for $100.00

12. All stud fees must be sold and paid for by June 1st in order for offspring to be eligible to show at futurity.

13. Non Eligible Sire Fee: Offspring sired by stallions previously paid into the program are eligible to show at a cost of $75 per year shown, in addition to regular fees. Offspring must have been born in a year the stallion was paid into the program.

14. Discount options available for stallion owners with more than one stallion listed on the Auction Board:
     1. The stallion owner may purchase the stud fee prior to the auction for, $500 - first stallion, $400 -
         second stallion, $300 for each subsequent stallion. All other criteria same as rule # 6.
     2. For stallion fees not sold through the auction, the stallion owner may purchase his stallion fees for,
         $300 for the first stallion and $200 for any other stallion. All other criteria the same as rule #4.
